The answers below reflect the rules, rights and procedures of the Consumer Protection Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network as of 6 September 2026. They will be revised as the Office's work develops and when the public register of suppliers opens to search.
What does the Consumer Protection Office do? Can the Office order a trader to pay me compensation? Do I have to complain to the trader before writing to the Office? How long does a complaint take? My goods are faulty. Am I entitled to a refund or only a repair? The trader offered me a credit note instead of a refund. Must I accept it? I have lost my receipt. Does that end the matter? How do I know whether a product has been recalled? What do Class A, B and C mean on the recall register? I think a product is dangerous. What should I do? Does the Office approve or certify products before they are sold? I am a trader. When must I tell the Office about an unsafe product? I bought something before 6 September 2026. Am I covered? Does the Office publish figures on its work? If your question is not answered here, write to contact@consumer.gov.vin . See also Consumer Rights , Making a Complaint and the recall register .
